Our Refinishing Process

Five stages between primer and perfect

Great paint is a process, not an event. Here's how every refinish moves through our shop.

01

Color Analysis & Match

A computerized camera reads your vehicle's exact color — including factory variants and years of fading — and we verify the formula with a spray-out card before any paint touches your car.

02

Surface Prep & Bodywork

Dents, chips, and scratches are repaired first. Panels are sanded, primed, block-sanded flat, and masked — the step that separates factory-quality from "repainted."

03

Controlled Booth Application

Base coat is applied in a filtered, temperature-controlled spray booth — no dust, no debris, consistent flow on every pass.

04

Multi-Stage Clear Coat

Multiple clear coat stages add the depth and gloss you see — and the UV protection that keeps Colorado sun from dulling the finish.

05

Cut, Polish & Inspection

The finish is wet-sanded, buffed, and polished to a uniform gloss, then the blend is checked in both daylight and booth light before delivery.

What We Refinish

Paint work we handle every week

From a keyed door to a complete color restoration — if it involves paint, our booth handles it.

Full Vehicle Resprays

Complete repaints in your factory color — the fix for oxidation, peeling, or a vehicle that's simply lost its shine.

Panel Repainting & Blending

Single panels refinished and blended into neighboring panels so the repair is invisible from every angle.

Sun & Oxidation Restoration

Colorado's UV is brutal on paint. Faded hoods, roofs, and trim brought back to true color with lasting protection.

Scratch & Key Damage

Deep scratches and vandalism damage repaired, refinished, and blended — not just touched up.

Clear Coat Failure

Peeling, cloudy, or checking clear coat corrected properly: stripped, refinished, and re-cleared.

Two-Tone & Trim Refinishing

Two-tone schemes, bumpers, mirrors, and trim pieces color-matched and refinished to factory appearance.

Claims & Out-Of-Pocket Work

Insurance job or your own project — same standard

Much of our paint work arrives as part of a collision or hail claim, where refinishing is covered by the at-fault party's insurance or your own policy. In those cases we coordinate everything with the carrier — the paint stage is simply part of the repair we're already managing, billed directly.

Plenty of customers also come to us out of pocket: a faded hood, a keyed door, clear coat peeling on a truck they plan to keep for years. For those projects you get the same computerized color match, the same booth, and a clear written quote before work begins — no surprises at pickup.

Not sure whether your paint damage is claimable? Bring it by — we'll tell you honestly whether a claim makes sense or whether paying out of pocket will serve you better.

Every CCS paint job includes

Tip: Have your VIN handy when you call — it gives us your factory paint code and any color variants, so your match starts exact.

How do you match my exact paint color?
We start with your factory paint code, then use a computerized camera that reads the actual color on your vehicle — including how it has aged in the sun. The formula is verified with a spray-out card before application, so the match is confirmed before your car is ever painted.
Do you paint just the damaged panel, or more?
We refinish the repaired panel and blend into adjacent panels where needed. Blending is what makes a repair invisible — a hard paint line at a panel edge is how you spot cheap work. Your estimate explains exactly which panels are painted and which are blended.
Will the new paint fade differently than the rest of my car?
No — we match the color as it exists on your vehicle today, and our premium UV-resistant products with multi-stage clear coat are engineered to age evenly with the surrounding factory finish.
How long does paint work take?
A single panel with blend typically takes 2–4 business days including prep and cure time. Full resprays run 1–2 weeks depending on bodywork needed. You'll get an accurate timeline with your written estimate.
Is paint damage covered by insurance?
When it's part of a collision, hail, or vandalism claim, yes — refinishing is covered like any other repair, and we bill the carrier directly. Wear-related fading and clear coat failure are generally not claimable, and we'll quote those honestly as out-of-pocket work.
